..... If you get an e-mail and you don't know where it comes from, looks suspicious ( and it has an attachment), don't open it, it may contain a virus or a worm.

..... You do need to have good anti-virus software installed and running to provide you safe access to your e-mail .

..... Most anti-virus software enables you to scan your mail when it comes in and checks on your outgoing mail, to prevent you from sending a virus to your friends and other people in your address book. If you don't use an anti-virus software program, you are at risk of losing data, having a virus, AND without your knowledge, sending out viruses and worms to the world . Many viruses and worms, can cause destruction to your computer and to other unprotected computers. They even may make a computer useless ( e.g. the I-Love-You virus ).

..... Another good program to use is a software automatic firewall. One good program is ZoneAlarm. It protects your computer from hackers and other potential Internet damage . This program checks every connection you have with the Internet , and provides you a reasonably safe and protected computer to work with.

..... Be aware of the threats in our virtual world and install such programs asap, if you don't have them, you are at increasing risk. These programs can save you a lot of money in computer repair bills and even ( dramatic pause )... save your virtual life :-) .
