RuneScape-Report by Mechanoid Rune

[Editor's note: T.k. used to be a CVN reporter and wrote this story at our request. In our efforts to provide fun and exploration, we do hope to present more Internet worlds to both our Cybertown and real world readers. We hope that new ideas, possibilities, and even new creations may find their way into our wonderful, ever expanding universe of Cybertown as a result! We looked over the site, there are several games there. Except for the ads, it looks pretty good. As always we urge parents and potential players to be careful as they explore or play on new sites. -jdb_educator]

RuneScape is a bit like Cybertown, but in different ways. One difference is that RuneScape is set in medieval times while Cybertown is set in the future.

In RuneScape, you can get different types of armor like Rune or Bronze, and you get to fight loads of monsters from small imps to Dragons. There are other skills to use other then fighting like mining and smithing to make your own armor and weapons. There are two modes to RuneScape. There exist F2P and P2P. F2p is free play, and the other is pay to play like Cybertown is now.

In free play you still get almost as good as the Members who get new towns, monsters, and new skill opportunities like making arrows. In the north of this world, there is a place called the Wilderness, where you can fight other people.

My favorite bit of it all is fighting the Monsters! There are even levels where you challenge different level players. The website is located at www.runescape.com .

In our conversation with TK over MSN, we discovered the following additional information:

RuneScape is a (nearly) 3d online quest, while it is not 3d yet, it will hopefully be in June. T.K. has a new name there: wingicorn

You earn CMBT levels, which make you better at fighting.

In RuneScape there are clans, demons, wizards, imps, and guards. There are also tasks to do called quests. There are towns, while in CT there are buildings (and all those wonderful worlds in the suburbs!) varrock, lumbridge, falador appear to be names of some of the towns.

You can change what your character looks like underneath the armor for 3000gp (gp=currency)

All the skills you develop add up to build your skill total and combat level.

You can you be banned, we asked? "Well if u break the rules (some of them are stupid) yes" TK told us the only 1's I do know are no abuse, scamming, trading accounts, no programs,

Newbies need to be warned: in RS, players can be cruel and take them to the wild and take them to some where the player can kill them. And if they have any good stuff when they die you pick it up. When you die you keep 3 items (BUT if you have a skull of your head you keep none)

There is no free trial; there exist both a free version and a paid version. In order to get the extra stuff you do have to pay. The price is $5 to be a member (£2.19) Here are plans for the new 3D at RuneScape

Reminder: As always we at CVN, urge parents and potential players to be careful as they explore or play on new sites.
