Coming Events at CVN Weekly by jdb_educator, Managing Editor Cybertown Virtual News IS CVN
July 28/03
This is: Issue 25 of edition 5 of CVN Weekly (#131)
This will be the last publication of this section we call Coming Events. . The reasons are varied but come down to usefulness. It started out as our intention to provide a quick review of online stories, but has pretty much ended up as a short commentary about me, by me! As I started today's column, I finally noticed that fact. Besides, it isn't fun any more! lol If it was fun and useful, we would continue it!! If anyone wants to do this column, they are invited to apply! Since it has not served well, nor, I might point out with a chuckle, even been read much, it should not be a loss to this editor or our readership! Replacing this column will be a section on writing ideas. These ideas will come from any source we can find. Their purpose will be to encourage writing , thinking, and submissions to our news organization. Here is one example that will be in next week's column: We have all heard expressions about life. Some are funny, some are serious. YOU are invited, encouraged, and requested to send your observations in the brief example format described below to CVN Weekly .
Life is a game so play to win!
Life is, isn't it?
Life Sucks
Life is strife.
In the game of life, no one is on the sidelines.
Hopefully these few will encourage you to email your thoughts leading to a great page. If you find pages filled with "Life is.." comments, send us the address. We will not search for them. oooooooooooo...I see room for a disclaimer hehe.....
All entries need to include nickname. Any web found submissions should include the page where found. Entries should be emailed, inboxed, or flown by falcon. We are totally irresponsible, therefore no claims for responsibility will be allowed for entries sent, received, or published. However...hehehe...contributions of minor writings such as these will NOT be considered as meeting the simple requirements of two contributions for a CVN title.
Ok, now this final column:
Amazing things are always happening in the city we call Cybertown. Many are obvious with activities, contests and chats. Daily club openings, new worlds in the suburbs and of course new items dropped in the malls or many galleries around town. There are always people flooding the flea markets too. Block, hood and colony events are frequent. The search for new residents continues. We live a busy life in our fair virtual city on the digital river. One of the most exciting things for this writer is the increasing use of the live event button for city wide supported events... Applause, whistles, and "well dones" go to those involved.
For all of us, people post the feedback boards, the places, colony, hood, and even block boards to alert us to what is happening. If we were all reading all of those lol we would know more, and have lots less time for other activities. Still the more sources we read the more we know. Communication is vital. Resonsible advertising is the increasing Cybertown method to get event awareness out to our public. This is done through many different means including posts, web pages and even surveys!
The second exciting thing that happens in the city are the behind the scenes activities by the tech people. We are likely to wake up and click to discover improvements like Instant Message short cuts of previous posts, as I found today. Or the inbox posting editing allowing formatting, html and spell checking. These are just a few of the great additions to our city and ability to communicate. Look forward to even more additions, changes and cutting edge efforts as we continue this fabulous internet civilization of the future called Cybertown each day! Celebrate the city, enjoy and above all have fun sharing yourself with others and becoming the person you want to become!

CVN
***** Here at CVN we have lots of new activities and pages developing. All the CVN Deputies agreed everyone in management should have their own page or section! As we continue this dynamic experiment in Internet journalism, We hope you look forward to more and varied content, lots of activities and neat contests from around the city.
Our focus is simple: fun, entertainment, good and reasonable content, and the improvement of writing. Our goal is to report the news in Cybertown that does not duplicate the Daily News or would be more appropriate for this magazine format.
CVN Weekly will claim no responsibility for what other people have on their site. So caution in exploring those URLs is recommended and even urged. We have, in the past, received notice of some CT "offensive language" but do not see ourselves in this publication or the monthly as required to eliminate such websites from our use. Sadly, people can always find something offensive if they choose to look far enough, or sometimes even by clicking on other pages than we send them to read. Our focus is on the articles we present, in the any weekly, other publication, or or other section of the news.. Obviously we try to avoid an over abundance of the too often used "bad words" simply believing their use shows a lack of creativity and poor selection of the many word great word choices available. True insults are an art! However our thanks do and always will go to those correspondents, citizens and readers who alert us of possible errors whether in fact, judgement, grammar or other errors they may catch for us, ranging from html to dead links. Several of our Cybertown friends have pointed out dangers and concerns in the past. We treat each notification as serious and think, before we respond. Since we are truly independent of Cybertown, we recognize that Cybertown is not responsible for our actions, and do URGE common sense and caution in clicking on ANY url of our publication here. We are certain that you would have to explore thoroughly to find bad language at all in the Daily. The Daily News is the official site news for CVN. We citizens are quite proud of our Site publication. The rest of our publications are citizen written, supervised, and published usually providing practice for those interested in developing their wrting, journalism, or cyber publication skills.
Job openings and possibilities are, as always in CVN, wide open. Anyone who wants to play, learn, grow, explore AND work is welcome. A request for a job, or application and makes two contributions to our news organization that we publish in the Daily News, the Weekly News or any related publication used for Cybertown are required for Cybertown titles and virtual pay. (The only kind we can afford, until the Editor's wife wins the lottery!) See our Job Openings or send a CVN application !
