FRIDAY'S PHENOM 3D CONCERT

by Catwho for CVN

The highly anticipated Citizens Appreciation Concert was a huge success! During the course of two and a half hours Friday, citizens enjoyed the music of both Call Me Alice and First Time Offenders . The first concert was at 8 PM CyT, the second, at 9:30 PM CyT. Both concerts came off without a hitch.

Star Host Leo Quinn , personality star of " ion the Set " brought to you by Vidnet.com, entertained and greeted the fans with a warning not to throw objects on the stage; however, one intrepid citizen did manage to throw *himself* onstage (captured in one of the many screenshots below) during the first Call Me Alice concert.

CMA, a goth rock band, are regular citizens of Cybertown. You can visit their CT home at http://www.cybertown.com/home/Call_Me_Alice and download their music at their official CMA website . Call Me Alice is comprised of band members Jude, Crosby, Epiphany, and Thrawn. The music is pure goth rock, the lyrics wild and unpredictable, the sound lush and rich. CMA is a tribute to their genre (and to Cybertown; they were one of the first virtual bands we had!) Their selections included "Bald," "Life 101," "Electrical Jesus," "Bugs in the Mirror," and "White Walls." Thank you, Call Me Alice, for sharing your music with us.

The second band to play for us, First Time Offenders, have a much more mellow sound. First Time Offenders is comprised of Billy, Michael, Tony (aka Hawk), Guy, and Richard. Those in our Skybox found ourselves swaying near the end to the sweet croons of "If I Die Tonight". Other selections included "Trace of You," "Without You," and "Shane." FTO treated us to an encore, for which we offered them a virtual standing ovation. Kudos to the First Time Offenders! Look for their website, coming soon to a web browser near you.

All in all, the concert was a great study in musical contrasts, with two representative bands offering something for everyone. Navigating the Amphitheater was much easier for most citizens this concert. CT virtual concerts are still best experienced on a broadband connection (DSL, cable, and up).

Citizens Appreciation Concert '01 can only be called one thing -- excellent! Here are some of the many screenshots captured during this exciting event.
