Contests, Contests, Contests!

As writers turn their sights to real money, getting published and/or writing for profit, there are many great and reliable opportunities online. Most will cost a reading fee. Contests are a great way to explore how good your writing may be, and one way to gear up for those expected rejections from publishers. Winning contests can lead to getting a publishing credit, a publishing contract, money, and other prizes. Entering contests can lead to recognition, readers, and contacts that are vital to writers. Of course, it can lead to nothing more than the pride of actually doing something with your writing, and that may be enough.
In this article, you will see the name, prize money offered, due dates. All contests involve writing, unless otherwise stated. Explore, think, dream, write, and then submit your writing somewhere!
