Hello Karyll, Thanks for agreeing to do this interview with me :) Lets get straight to the questions. When did you immigrate to Cybertown and how did you find it?
I immigrated to Cybertown in August 1998. I was introduced to it by a friend from another chat who you may know as GeorgeAN.
When you did find it? What was the factor or person that made you stay?
Initially I didn't know if I was going to stay, I was puzzled and ran into troubles and didn't understand what was going on but my friend was here and I persevered trying to "get" it. Then I got my first BD job in Virtual Worlds /Metaverse/Gila Highlands block and started moving up through the ranks.
As the chat I came from was Spirituality based, George said to me... wouldn't it be great to have a whole hood devoted to spirituality? And with brainstorming and researching, we saw a whole colony could be proposed. We then set our sights on making a formal proposal for a colony. Which as you know proved to be accepted. We asked Jolinth to be our CL once our concepts were planned so that she could present it for us... and she accepted. What do you love so much about Inner Realms to become the CL?
I guess the above questions answered that. It was and always has been my baby. I was happy being CD and was a very reluctant CL, to be to be honest. But Jolinth and I both knew my love of IR would win out over my fears and feelings of inadequacies.
What do you do in real life that helps you with your CT work and vice versa?
I am a licensed practical nurse in real life and I work mostly with those terminally ill due to cancer. I work in a medical hospital and so we see all kinds of other conditions as well.
What I have learned here is about people, different beliefs and understandings among other things... such as death and the fears associated with it. That has helped me in my job when dealing with different faiths of families... when one of their family members is dying. I have also learned how to stand up and speak without fear of recrimination and learned what true support and friendship is. I have been able to lead meetings and inservices due to some of the confidence I have earned here in Cybertown. What has Cybertown and your experiences here taught you about yourself and life in general?
Cybertown has taught me that I am valuable human being that can love and be loved. And it has helped me to stay sober. I have learned some techie stuff... and I have learned most about the hearts inside of people that are generally good. In some cases, it has restored my faith in humankind.
How do you feel about the new pay system and what new things can we be looking forward to from both Inner Realms and the City Council?
There is some sadness, as people I know and care about are leaving the city. There is also some anxiety as some, including me, do not know exactly what to expect. There are some pros... although smaller in our population numbers.. we will get the opportunity to know each other on a much deeper and perhaps even better level. When I signed up here... it was Colony City then.. there were 1200 members. We have grown to this incredible number-over one million-now... I hold great future ideas and hopes for what we can become as a community and for the population that exists. When you have free time where is your favorite place to hang out in CT?
I love the Cybertown forest plaza, of course. And when I get to chat and relax that is where I go. Although... you can usually find me at a trivia game, if there one is going on somewhere. What is your best memory of your time thus far in Cybertown?
My best memory (aside from the memorable friends I have made) is when Hawk saw me and said.. Karyll? IR has been approved and will be online. The second best day.. was going to the plaza and seeing it there. If you could be any animal which would you be :)?
I would be a large cat because they have a great life... and ohhhhh DO they know how to relax! CVN and b1a1b thanks Karyll for "your time and all the work you do for the city..."
