On Friday night: A STAR TREK CHAT was held at Sunset Beach
Questions about the upcoming Star Trek Convention were asked and answered.
Flyby hosted and interviewed Vito Montone, the Founder, COO & Chairman of vir-con.net the home of the first 3D Virtual Star Trek Convention in conjunction with the Live Convention happening in Las Vegas on August 2-4, 2002.
CVN was there,(crashed-sigh) but we are seeking a copy of the Chat, moderated by red5. IF you have a copy please send it to [email protected] We hope to post it on this web site or link to another site.
Temporary Shutdown Planned: Starts Sunday/Monday
Latest news we have is that on Sunday evening or Monday morning CT will go offline. The plan is to move it to another provider and have it back online about a week later. Daily backups are being done. Please let the members know. Thanks.

Just heard that a new full CT backup was done yesterday and now backups are being done daily :)

No, it means that CT will be backed up until just before it goes offline for the move to the new providers.

YOUR Donations ARE Needed This is taken out of the context of the email from catzalot2000 to make my point: I'd hate to lose ct because we talked it to death. The point is to donate, give Cybertown time to find long range solutions for us all. We need at least $10,000 US, More just makes it easier and buys time. If you can, donate. If yu can't donate, be patient, do what you can do. It is very likely that more ways to donate or send money to Cybertown will be posted here. The possible ways are up to Hawk. I encourge you to try paypal if you have a credit card. If you do not, wait for further news, or email Hawk about how much you can donate and what way would work best for you..
Donations & Sponsors We are seeing postings of several peeps willing to donate as much as $50 per month, many agreeing the a $5 per month fee is ok, a few that just cannot afford it, and an encouraging offer of hard ware: servers. Hawk needs two 40 gig hard drives too, and hosting. So Help where you can, contact Hawk if you find sponsors, hosting or hard drives! or possible and Donate if at all possible.

CFCCTDT Growing! CFCCTDT now has 410 members, up from 20 at the start of this month.Everyone should join there. We still have a lot of Cybertown Citizens who aren't connected or lmao the average Cytonian has about 100 identities! Please do everything you can to help our citizens be connected and prepared for the temporary shutdown.Use your instant mesage software, email and chats to connect people. The Official 4th Anniversary Today, June 23rd, 2002, is the official 4th anniversary of the opening of Colony City, a division of Cybertown. What a long and winding road! Through Morph games, new colonies, new places, new jobs, and new features, the Colony City/Cybertown chat community has survived longer than its predecessor (now Old Cybertown) ever did. Four years is a really long time for any website to be fully active, and I think we have this great community to thank for that. -Eric Winer from MVchat

The groups news went pretty quiet lol. We posted notice on all of the colony boards requesting at least the links be passed to every house, friend and contact in cbertown, so "when" the shutdown event happens, Most citizens will have a clue and some basic understanding of the situation!

New Memories Site diversDestiny is developing a memories site for the "way it was". This site is still in development(so no critiques) and will be a delight for the memories it will contain. When Cybertown returns, after shutdown, there will be lots of changes needed, we are sure. BSC Party 2 PM CyT Today TRIVIA MASTER [this has not been verified, but I missed all the parties yesterday! And soosh, a ND, is a new reporter trying to get his two stories published!]
On june 22 2:00pm CT time there will be a trivia at the black sun club. The trivia includes a prize of 20,000cc (cyber cash) and everyone is invited to come along and enjoy the excitement. It appears that Cybertown will be down for one to two weeks. That could happen today,or the 23rd sometime or on the 30th of June.We will update you as soon as more is known. See recommendations for your immediate "site recommended" activity.
