This is: Introductory letter for New CVN applicants
Congratulations you have taken the first step in an adventure in writing. There will be all kinds of excitement, frustration, irritations and problems. and with luck...Success!!
It is scary how like Real Life this becomes!
We are not here for conflict, political ambition or causing problems. Our mission is good, useful, well written, understandable News for Cybertown Citizens.
Your first task is to find, write, or create and submit a Cybertown based story that is positive, promotes Cybertown and its values and has the possibility of interesting Cybertown readers. Negative stories will be reviewed and returned. We consider insults, tactless or any other kind of putdowns as non news. News, information and tact, consideration, promotion and encouragement are the focus.
The EASIEST stories to get written and published are club stories. The trick is to find an active, interesting club with little publicity. As a cub reporter you should not be owner or an officer of the clubs you write about, UNTIL you have your two required articles published. Thereafter shameless self promotion IS possible.

The minimum requirements include:
Two articles published before title and pay are awarded There are no experience, age or expertise qualifications. ANY Citzen may write for CVN. However we do not promise you will be published. That can take a lot of work, from you. However if you will use the attitudes below, we believe you will get published!

Daily Duties:

1. Turning on your computer
2 Logging into Cybertown daily, or as often as possible
3 Checking your e-mail/responding or creating
4 Reading the daily news
5 Going to CVN at yahoogroups/the club/the website
6 Chatting with other workers
7 Gathering information for a story, getting story ideas
8 Writing the story
9 Proof reading the story
10 Submitting the story
11 following up on anything needed for the story
12 Seeing it in CVN publications
13 Making suggestions and being creative
14 Keeping yourself active and having fun
Permissions:
Other jobs are allowed: If it's ok with your other bosses(s), it's ok with us.
Vacations and short breaks are encouraged, without loss of pay. Advise the Managing Editor
ANY problem may be taken directly to the Managing Editor.
Dangers:
Mistreating citizens or fellow workers
Hacking/cracking/banned
Mistreating fellow workers
Non participation, etc.
May well get you fired and reported to Security.
Structure of the CVN Hierarchy and brief description:
Cybertown Virtual News is a feudal structure like most of Cybertown. We all must be workers but few get the opportunity to be bosses. However if you work at the job with dedication you may get that chance! nder the current structure of CVN Weekly, you may be able to set up your very own independent section for CVN. Beach Bum, Gopher, writer, editor, publisher poet, story teller, artist, technician? There is room for everyone at CVN. Our only requirement is that you contribute often and have fun.
