The Performing Arts Center and Library Weekly Poetry Contest:
A Battle of Words

The Theater and Library Poetry contest took place with an audience, last week.
Participating poets included Elexia, jdb_educator, JBASS1345, Lothien, Qrisa. The winners were voted on by those present in whispers to Sysop_SimCity. Third place was unvoted on, Sysop made a teasing effort to grab third place, but could not whisper his vote to himself and jdb_educator as money bags the payer refused to vote. Elexia broke the 0-0 deadlock by casting a vote for her CVN boss! Rumors now abound (grin) jdb_educator is considering a promotion for his loyal CVN staffer. We have severely edited the chat to present the results.
Sysop_SimCity, theater deputy ran the contest. magic09 moderated. The chat was filled with humor, bad jokes and everybody seemed to have fun. jdb_educator presented the first poem but crashed several times before posting the entire poem.

Change
In a world where nothing is inscribed in stone,
And the only constant is change,
We are the ones who need the chisel in our hands
We have unlimited potential.
We can carve our own journeys.
Uncertainty is only that if we allow it to be.
We can never let the unknown consume us;
The nonsolid deter us,
Or the future cause fear for us.
This is a time when nothing is certain,
But save for the fact that the future
Can be- and will be-
Changed by us.

[CVN Editor] jdb_educator [30496] inquired about interest on the creation of an online collaborative poem) Here is how it works. lol simple rules: 6 to 10 lines depending on number of players, no more than 8 words per line, must rhyme. Each person takes in order one to three lines and the posting goes participant by participant. For example: Sysop could start followed by Elexia, Qrisa and jdb_educator, each would end of typing two lines to the poem. More people, less lines. Less people, perhaps more lines.
