Thanksgiving Poetry
-compiled by jdb_educator for CVN
We have two poems to share with you today. The following, Thanksgiving, was sent by Flyby, followed by I Am Thankful by jdb_educator.
What are you thankful for? Whether you are religious, non-religious, apathetic or even against all religious life, there are experiences and events in all our lives that we can and really should take the time to acknowledge to ourselves, friends and where appropriate to our God. We hope you will enjoy these two efforts and find them provoking some thoughts for you.
Thanksgiving:
I am thankful for being a father,
I am thankful for being a son.
I am thankful for being a brother,
I am thankful for being a friend.
I am thankful for being a husband,
I am thankful for being employed.
I am thankful for being an American,
this freedom, I've enjoyed.
I am thankful for my friends online,
I am thankful through and through.
I am thankful for the time we spend,
my thanks and gratitude.
As I sit and look through the window of life,
So fast it passes me by.
I am thankful for each day I live,
but still wonder who am I?
I Am Thankful
-jdb_educator
Each and every year
I have a smile and tear
For so many great and sad things near.
Here is my list, to read, for your ear,
Read aloud as you peer.
Gratitude for life
Thanks for virtual fun, friends and strife.
Appreciation to writers, adults and kids,
Those minds sharing what is under their lids!
Blessings to all who write, pray, share, or play,
You are the ones to make one stay!
Each day I give thanks
For blessings and pains
Without which there would be no gains. Happy thanksgiving to all,
Be this your day to celebrate,
Early or late!
Let these wishes follow you to your date!
It is always nice to give thanks, right?
Every moment, day or night,
It just takes a thought, note, prayer, or e- mail bright!
