Buzz_Lightyear_ has left the group [COM] red5 [6570] : So why Star Wars and not Dune or some other sci-fi story? timeranger [5] : One of the most fascinating aspects of Star Wars for me timeranger [5] : was its feeling of gritty realism, especially in the timeranger [5] : first film. Part of that came from the real locations timeranger [5] : used for the desert planet Tatooine. The places were timeranger [5] : Tatooine was filmed offered me a chance to step timeranger [5] : into the fantasy in a way I could not do for other great timeranger [5] : sci-fi works like Dune. timeranger [5] : Working with Doug was one of the best things Jack has left the group timeranger [5] : I got to do while writing the books. He is
timeranger [5] : tremendously creative, and enjoys the timeranger [5] : creativity of others. He is talented enough timeranger [5] : not to be threatened by other peoples' ideas. Lt.General [1064] : The books explain more about the chararcters than the movie does. Where do you retrieve this info from? timeranger [5] : In some cases for the Star Wars books, timeranger [5] : and in a lot of cases for the Episode I books, timeranger [5] : I created new background information myself.
