Xbox Live

Hard to believe, but since I bought into the growing community of Xbox Live, I've had sleepless nights playing Halo 2, turned into mercenary in Splinter Cell 2, and took on Project Gothams best in 4 player races.

Online Multiplayer will change the way you look at video games. I watch as I introduce someone to the online challenges. At first, a bewilderment as they are fragged (or killed) 5 times in a row, but a maniacal grin as they get their first point, its nice to see.

Players usually quickly get into clans; Halo 2 features a brilliant clan feature, which allows clans to battle it out over certain maps. The result is spectacular, when opponents aren't calling you a n00b, or 'p00ning' you, they usually give a 'nice' after a good kill, or 'good game' post match.

Signing up for Live is easy, using the Xbox Dashboard, select Xbox Live and follow the onscreen instructions. A serial number is required either from a free trial card or the starter pack. 40 pound per year fee is required, but if you bought the starter pack its free for the first year.

Choosing a gamer tag is hardest of all, with over a million now on Live, your GT has to be original. After thinking long and hard, I called myself BadeInfinity, if you see me, do say hello.

Put simply, Xbox Live is a sneak preview of what to come with Xbox 2 and PS3, except more diverse online features, cheaper online fees and higher quality gaming. If you have an Xbox, Broadband, and an active credit card, missing out isn't really an option.

With such brilliant online games coming to an Xbox near you such as Counter Strike Source, Star Wars Republic Commando and Pariah, there's never been a better time to join the online revolution.

Sign up, sign up now.

See ya online!
